The Artsy Tribe: Summer Day Camp!!!
July 2nd-July 12th Mon-Thurs 10:30am-2:30pm
A speciality day camp, we offer unique art projects, a smaller group setting providing the ultimate attention and cultivation of your child's creative side! Limited to ten students total. Ages 5-10
Camp starts each day at 10:30am, we start of with creative meditation as we prepare to get started on the projects and fun activities for the day. Campers will have instruction and art enrichment throughout the day, each day students will learn about a new artist from art history or from one of our contemporary artist and works. Campers will then interpret this into their own creative vision within the project that day. Students will also get the opportunity each day to explore freely a variety of materials and fun activities. Campers get to discover their skills in different areas of art and to see if there is a particular subject matter or material they have a greater interest in. We have nature & art activities on the St. Elmo walking path on weather permitting days.
Campers get lunch under our peace canopy, enjoying creative community while sharing a meal together as we discuss our findings from the days project. After lunch we get a creative fiesta, a chance for students to relax, choose a material to explore while we listen to a film relating to our project that day. Students the rest of the day will finish up projects, and get time to pick from the day's selection of fun activities.
End of day Campers will have an organic snack and begin working collaboratively on a bigger group project. Pick up is at 2:30pm.
A the end of camp parents/guardians are invited to our Artsy Tribe showcase, featuring the art projects the Camper's made throughout the ten days with the Artsy Tribe Summer Day Camp.
